My spontaneous response was yes, why wouldn’t I be?

I was then further asked if I had Trans related training. This presented for an interesting reflection.

My answer to this was, I have “people” training.

In a time when we are raising much awareness to non-discrimination, non-denomination, inclusion and being accepting, I find that there have never been more labels to describe people!

It is clear that the more labels there are, the more differences need to be acknowledged. Labels can be helpful to clarify certain traits. They help people know where to put you and while labels can help us feel safe and make sense of the world, they also serve to divide us and stand in judgement.

But Labels don’t see people. When you label yourself or someone, that person is being identified as being something or not, and you deny that person, or yourself, the opportunity to be anything else and even change.

With the model I developed, I talk about our Blueprint. This is a one size fits all model. We are all born with a behavioural Blueprint, yet this Blueprint is unique to each and everyone. It is with this Blueprint that we develop an understanding of who it is we truly are.

While labels can help us make sense of perceptions, there really is little need for them once we become fluent in the understanding that what is right for me does not have to be right for another person.

Our Blueprint is colourless and genderless. If we take away those labels we can realise that we are far more alike than we are different and these differences need to be embraced, not compartmentalised.

It helps us understand who we truly are and that we are all uniquely different.

We learn that we are the only person responsible for our happiness.

So, does it really matter whether we are a he, a she or a they? Does it really matter that what makes us happy does not have to make anyone else happy? Does it really matter what choices we make for ourselves as long as it doesn’t infringe on anyone else’s ability to meet their needs?

So yes, I am a Trans Inclusive Counsellor/ Coach because I will assist you to look beyond the labels and discover your Blueprint.

@nadiathonnard.com

For more info you can CONTACT us with your query.
Remember to SHARE this post!

Recently I was asked if I was a Trans Inclusive Counsellor.
